Our Rich Heritage

Founded in 1924, the South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of the sailing community in Abersoch for nearly a century. Our club was established by a group of passionate sailors who recognized the exceptional sailing conditions offered by Cardigan Bay.

Located at coordinates 52°49.43'N, 04°269.89'W, our clubhouse sits in one of the most picturesque locations on the Welsh coast. The sheltered waters of Abersoch provide ideal conditions for both racing and cruising, making SCYC a premier destination for sailors from across the UK and beyond.

Throughout our history, SCYC has maintained its commitment to promoting sailing excellence, fostering community spirit, and preserving maritime traditions. We've hosted numerous prestigious regattas and have been home to many accomplished sailors who have competed at national and international levels.

Today, SCYC continues to thrive as a modern yacht club while honoring its traditional values of seamanship, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
