A Legacy of Sailing Excellence

Founded in 1924, the South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of the sailing community in Abersoch for nearly a century. Our club was established by a group of passionate sailors who recognized the exceptional sailing conditions offered by Cardigan Bay and the sheltered waters around Abersoch.

From humble beginnings with a small group of enthusiasts, SCYC has grown to become one of Wales' most prestigious yacht clubs, hosting national championships, nurturing sailing talent, and maintaining the highest standards of seamanship and sportsmanship.

Located at coordinates 52°49.43'N, 04°269.89'W, our clubhouse sits in one of the most picturesque locations on the Welsh coast, where the traditions of the past meet the innovations of the future.
